Meet our Therapists
Drew Brennan, Ph.D. - LPC, CADCII
As a co-operator of the Siskiyou Counseling practice, I bring a background in counseling and human potential that began well over 25 years ago. My perspective on growth and change places my clients in the center and honors their life experience and their innate knowledge. My career has bridged counseling and education and I have been privileged to work in extraordinary environments with talented people. My work with you will draw from my broad professional background, ultimately empowering you to make the changes in life that you are seeking, at a pace that is comfortable to you.
I possess a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Arts in Experiential Education. I also hold a Ph.D. in Education from Oregon State University. Because my private practice identifies trauma as the culprit in most of our human struggles, I work hard to keep pace with the rapidly changing fields of neuro-science and interpersonal neurobiology so that I might be best equipped to assist you. To that end I am constantly training on the evolution of Brainspotting as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – the primary modalities I use to help my clients put the past in the past. I also draw from an eclectic mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution Focused approaches, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and simple Rogerian concepts.
Clearly, the days of attending to discrete, isolated parts of one’s health are over. The mind and body have never been more distinctly connected. Together we will explore how you are wired. You will learn how your behavior, or your thinking, strongly influence your emotional wellbeing, and vice-versa. I invite individuals to adopt an open mind and to suspend their judgments about what it might take for them to feel better.
In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor and enjoy working with motivated adults in early recovery from addictions. I am eager to coordinate with treatment centers about your discharge plans, recovery goals, and relapse prevention planning.
I am also a Supervisor Candidate and provide clinical supervision for LPC-Interns or LMFT-Interns in the State of Oregon.
